It's been a long time...
... that I've sent out a newsletter. But I haven't been idle. I've only been derailed by Facebook and other social media thinking I can stay in touch with everyone on this list - and millions more. Yeah right!!
I have actually come to the conclusion that social media as such is merely a distraction and that I have to get back to focused informing, for those of you who want to know about my meddling in composition, production music and otherwise. If you are on this list of email recipients, I want you to know what I am doing. And in the last five years (yes, I think it's been this long since I sent out the last newsletter), quite a lot of music has happened for me. Especially in the last 18 months, since buying a home again, a home that has a basement, which let me set up my very own work space, with guitars on the walls in reach, keyboards and amplifiers all set up to be at my service at the flip of two switches. Ready, set, go!
And if you want to know about my creative meddling, please sign up right at the bottom of this blog entry! I am planning on sending monthly emails with news, giveaways, and links to stuff to review and/or purchase. The digital domain is too much fun, isn't it?
For example, there is a very special project brewing that is slated for an impending public release - Yes, you will be able to download songs, maybe order CDs and limited vinyl EP editions, and to order T-shirts. Too much fun, too much passion. I can't wait to tell you about all the details. But wait, please, stay tuned! Look for my January newsletter on this.
Back to the backend, production music projects and albums. First, going backwards chronologically, ThisIsLoopLounge have just released the first sample loops project I have been involved with: "RAW ELEMENTS: JAZZ & BLUES GUITAR". I spent just about the whole summer tracking these tasty chord progressions, licks and sounds. If you are a music producer in need of spicing up your sample library, check it out:
In late spring of this year, I finished my last production music theme album: "STRINGS IN ACTION". It got picked up for industry distribution by an established, NYC based audio house/library in September. This collection is a combination of original, classical guitar pieces and cinematic orchestration. It was super fun to concoct these works, usually, starting with just the guitar arrangements, recording those and then building the orchestral arrangement around them - sort of like backwards sculpting. Some of the pieces, however, developed in synchronized fashion with the orchestral elements inspiring the guitar pieces. There are a bunch of BEFORE+AFTER videos I've posted on my news/blog page.
"THE WATER RULE" is my modern take on surf music. That's the kind of music I hear and envision as the soundtrack to my own surf sessions, being in the element(s) and taking it all in. Not Dick Dale or the Beach Boys, but more Hendrix meets The Meters. Groovy, inspiring, ub-beat, catchy tunes chase a vintage, but modern, production sound. Mastered by Hawaii based engineer, Milan Bertosa, it got released in the summer of 2015 and signed with a Singapore publisher for industry distribution in Asia and the USA. You can listen to 30 sec samples here.
That's about it for now. You are very welcome to preview any of the albums on my website. Should you be interested in using my music in your own production, I can immediately put you in touch with the respective publisher and their licensing teams.
Thanks for reading and listening!
